RACE 3: 20 May 2006, Nigelstone
The twitchy, slippery style of these brutally fast but hard to drive cars,
coupled with a controller issue on Yellow, proved an undoing to some of the members today.
Rene overcame it best to secure yet another victory (Michael Schumacher, check your mirrors), with Daniel in a usual
podium position, joined by John Emmons (who deserves special kudos by achieving his maiden sprint race podium). Bob Beck rebounded from a subpar finish in Race 1 with a strong fourth, Mike continuing strong with a fifth,
host Nigel consistent in sixth, then (dig this) a three-way tie for seventh; Thomas being there is not much of a surprise,
but Jim Wolfe and Russell Bracher joining him certainly was! Hard Luck Award
for the race goes to Gary, who, if he had managed just one tenth more, would have joined the tie.

RACE 2: 8 April 2006, Farrout Raceway
Michael Smalley decided the best way to win was simply to run away and hide, setting best laps
on all but one lane and beating the field by nearly 2 laps. Daniel took up the fight but a realtively poor run on White
left him well behind Michael but 1/2 a lap ahead of Dennis in 3rd. Dennis in turn had a 3/10ths of a lap gap to
Rene in 4th. Both were lucky that the Orange Monster was driven by a happily drunken host as Stephen came in 1/10th
behind Rene for 5th.
A little over a lap behind was Thomas in 6th, yet again making effective use of the loaner cars
with 3 Top 5 of day in Red, Green and Orange. Jim Hansen swooped in from Montana for 7th just ahead of the returning
Alvin in 8th. Jim Wolfe took 9th and John Emmons was 10th
In regards to cars there still seems to be no specific car that is better than the rest despite
the 2nd and 3rd place for Team Mercedes Sauber in this race. Note that from 2nd to 8th there is only 2 laps total difference
so it is still close.

RACE
1: 4 February 2006, Smalley's Riverside Raceway
Our first Slot.it Group C race was
on 4 February 2006 at Michael Smalley's Carrera Riverside Raceway. The home track "advantage" was used to
the full with Michael turning on the consistent speed and beating all comers by precisely 1 lap per heat. Not only
that but he did it with the loaner cars (one of each of the currently available Group C Slot.it's).
In a clear second was Rene doing his
usual consistent speed thing but this time with his favoruite Rothmans Porsche, with Stephen accidentally taking 3rd
with his newly painted Jagermeister Porsche just half a lap ahead of John Emmons (also using the loaners) in 4th. Closely
following was Daniel just 3/10ths of a lap behind in his stealth painted Mercedes Sauber. In 6th Dennis just held off
a fast improving Jim Wolfe by the minimum 1/10th of a lap. Richard got a good 8th for the day ahead of Bill P, Bill
S and Stan in the last 3 spots of the Top 10.
From the first race there seems to be no
discernable advantage to any particular car.
