I've just sold my Targa Florio track, and I'll be starting on a new digital/analog rally track inspired by the Pont des Miolans stage of the Monte Carlo Rally. Here's the initial plan and inspiration. Suggestions are welcome. It's important to me that the track work as a two lane analog (as well as digital). Right now I'm planning on using the SSD Powerbase Pro 1.8 s-h, which will allow both digital (6 cars) and analog (2 cars).

I'm sure it will be a beautiful track. I like the layout, even though I'm not much of a fan of crossovers and pinched lanes. The straight will provide a some good opportunities to get ahead. A few questions: 1. What is the footprint? 2. How much elevation rise is there? 3. What's your timeline? 4. Where is the new home of Targa Florio?

Actually, there are no crossovers--the "X" marks the lane change that will only operate when the track is in digital mode (not used in analog). The squeeze has both scenic and practical purpose. I want to have a narrow enough track so that it's easy to reach any deslotted car w/out marshalls. The squeeze allows me to do a narrower footprint. And it will fit in my garage better!

1) Footprint is 10'x3.5'.

2) I'll try to get as much elevation as possible. Probably three feet in scenery elevation but only 18" in the circuit itself.

3) I'm planning to finish it in time for petersen event in July.

4) The targa is going to Jim Cunningham at nomad slot car racing.

Wow! I'm surprised at how fast you can get around in a lap. The elevation looks cool, and I'm sure we're all going to be blown away by the detailed scenery when it's done. Looking forward to it.

I'm starting to do the scenery now beginning with the switchbacks. First, I piece together some rock molds using Sculptamold -- I'm trying to make it look like the road is carved out of the rock.

Then a little paint

And, the car squeezes through (several test laps just to make sure)

I'm also putting down the base of the canyon

I missing racing, but it's been difficult to get away for an entire Saturday with family events, visits, etc. The work on the track continues however. Here's a quick update. It's ready for a test -- so hopefully, I can get a few people out just to put it through its paces.

Just putting the bridge in on the front straight.

Speaking for the many "lurkers" who regularly visit this forum, I truly enjoy watching your progress here. Thank you again for posting William.
Great to see you yesterday too!

New cars for Father's Day inspires a new round of photos. The first one's a Fly Ferrari 250LM (Targa car--still collecting the cars, and I'll have to do another version of a Targa track eventually). The 2nd one is a Renault Monte Carlo Rallye car that I got especially for this track!

And, some more general photos...

And now finishing off the front facade...

Having been to Monte Carlo in 1980 for the grand prix, I must say that you've definitely captured the essence of the roads in the area. Great work!

The general scenery is done, and now it's just adding details. I also got the variable power supply, which makes it much nicer to control the power (mostly turning it down). Still have guardrails to add, but wanted to put in a few signs along with some trees.

Except for that cat carrier, I'd say everything looks perfectly in scale! Seriously, beautiful job. Looking forward to seeing it in real life.
