The smoke clears in the 2012 FarrOut Overall Championship to find Tom Giese and Christophe Deluy in a heated battle for top spot, seperated by just 0.22 points after fifteen races. Eddie Shorer lies a point behind in third. I am firmly in fourth for now, but Gary Woods in fifth only has thirteen races in, so each race could boast him closer. Fingers Johnson has fifteen races run and settles out in an impressive sixth place overall, with a nice raw score advantage over Russell Bracher looking who is looking strong for now in seventh But they had both better beware of Stephen Farr-Jones and Jim Wiseman who will be threats if they complete fifteen races through the year which they seem likely to do.

With adjusted scoring set to take hold, we see Michael Smalley leading the 2012 FarrOut Overall Championship over Tom Giese in second and Rafi Zait in third. Christophe Deluy is fourth, followed by Eddie Shorer in fifth, and John Tarver and JR Ewing tied for sixth.
Once fifteen races have passed, a driver's modified rank will be calculated as total points divided by total races for all drivers. Previous to that the score is only divided by the number of races competed in. In this way the points system rewards participation. Ultimately, each driver will be allowed their best 26 races.
Fourteen races have passed.

Tom Geise moves up to an 18 point average score in second place as Christophe Deluy, in fourth, slips towards the rising Eddie Shorer in fifth.

Michael Smalley continues to lead the 2012 Overall Championship. With only two races in the books, Michael will not be able to hold his position once adjusted scoring kicks in.

With two wins in two races Michael Smalley cannot be removed from the top of the 2012 FarrOut Overall Championship until adjusted scoring kicks in after 14 races. That gives Christophe Deluy, second, Tom Giese, third, and Eddie Shorer, fifth, seven races to think about where they want to be when they come out on the other side. I think we are going to see some close racing between those three all year, and hopefully Michael will reappear soon so we can better measure how high the bar is now.
John Tarver's average third place finish, earned in his one team race, is good enough to put him amongst the hounds in fourth overall. Terry De Los Santos, standing in sixth place, can take points from some of the top four at any track.
In seventh place I lead the huge pack that is the best-of-the-rest, including Gary Woods, eighth, Stephen Farr-Jones, ninth, Nigel Rick, tenth, Bob Beck, eleventh and our hard-working score-keeper Thomas Lauffenberger in twelfth, followed by fourteen others.
