12/3/2011 For the sixth year running Michael Smalley is the 2011 FarrOut Slot Car Racing Champion. “Ol’ six-time” gave up quite a few more points than usual this year however and the story of 2012 will certainly be whether he can make it to be a seven-timer.
The final race provided some twists to the championship results and second to fourth tightened to just 0.34 points after the final go-round, with Terry de los Santos holding on to second place by just 0.04 points. Tom Giese was able to pass Eddie Shorer to take third, leaving Eddie trailing by his own 0.04 points to fourth. Christophe Deluy finished fifth, just three tenths of a point out of third. As the man on the move, he will be fun to watch as 2012 opens. I finish sixth in 2011 after four straight years of finishing fourth. The newcomers have wedged me out and I’m not currently up to their game. Thomas Lauffenberger does Team Loaner proud with a seventh overall. Gary Woods, Stan Smith and Carlos Raphael fill out the top ten. Just behind them are all of the other great drivers who make every club race an event worth going to. If you weren’t personally mentioned in this championship report, consider it a good reason to return in 2012. See you then.

11/26/2011 Terry de los Santos is able toss out another bad race finish and make a move into second place in the 2011 FarrOut Overall Slot Car Racing Championship, squeaking ahead of Eddie Shorer in third by 0.04 points. Tom Giese in fourth is able to boost his score also and tighten the gap to Eddie. Below them many of the close fights tighten up as we head into the final race meeting of the year.
11/5/2011 With three races remaining in the 2011 FarrOut Slot Car Racing Championship season, Michael Smalley is your clear overall leader. Behind him just 0.37 points cover the next four drivers with Eddie Shorer, in second, leading Terry De Los Santos, in third by a slight 0.07 points. Following them, just 0.08 points separate Tom Giese and Christophe Deluy for fourth and fifth. I don't believe we've ever had a championship race that is this close for four of the top five positions. The next two race meetings are likely to bring some further excitement to the end of a close fought season.
I'm able to hold station in sixth but can't begin to challenge the top five. Filling out the top ten is a pack of seasoned drivers in Thomas Lauffenberger, Gary Woods, Carlos Raphael and Stan Smith. SFJ lurks in eleventh, no doubt, looking forward to a good final team race on the home track.
10/29/2011 The dogfight continues for second place.. It's still anyone's game. 0.63 points, 2nd to 5th. On with the racing!
10/15/2011 Second to fifth place is covered by 4/5 of a point. Terry moves to third, sliding Tom back to fourth. Christophe Deluy is adding big scores and closing in on the front pack. Michael leads, Eddie is second.
10/1/2011 Terry falls back to fourth place with Michael leading, Eddie second and Tom now third.
9/17/2011 Eddie retakes second and Terry falls into a tie for third with Tom Giese.
9/3/2011 Terry fights back, retaking second.

8/20/2011 Eddie Shorer moves ahead of Terry De Los Santos for second place,

7/9/2011 Terry De Los Santos moves into second place by a scant 0.05 points over Eddie Shore in third. Michael Smalley continues to lead. Tom Giese in fourth reduces the gap to Eddie. Their Best-of-20s are very close to each other. Christophe Deluy in fifth is driving away from me, idling firmly in sixth. Gary, Thomas, Stan and Stephen going at it for seventh through tenth.
6/18/2011 Drivers down to 13th place hold their spots, but it's getting a bit crowded at the top with Eddie, Terry and Tom all converging on second place. Christophe's best-of-ten could allow him to jump right into the fray with a few more top-three finishes.
6/4/2011 Eddie Shorer inches a bit closer to leader Michael Smalley in the 2011 Farrout Overall Championship. From Michael in first to Russell Bracher in eleventh the leaders hold their positions, some slipping, some gaining. Stan Smith and Stephen Farr-Jones have each yet to get fifteen racesn, yet are still ranking well despite their adjustment handicaps.
5/21/2011 Adjusted scoring kicks in and we get a better look at the 2011 Farrout Overall Championship standings. Michael Smalley leads over Eddie Shorer in second. Eddie has Terry De Los Santos close behind him in third. Tom Geise is a point back in fourth. Christophe Deluy gives another point to Tom and holds fifth. Even further back in sixth, I hold off the pack of Gary Woods, Thomas Lauffenberger and Stan Smith, in seventh, eight and ninth. Stephen Farr-Jones is tenth.
5/7/2011 Ryan Nelson is now the 2011 Farrout Slot Racing Championship leader. Ryan uses a team win as his only race of the year to hold everyone off for now. Michael Smalley drops to second. Jim Wolfe slips to third. Daniel Snipes is fourth, with Eddie Shorer in fifth and Terry De Los Santos sixth. Enjoy it while it lasts, Ryan.
4/23/2011 Eddie Shorer flips positions with Terry De Los Santos to take fourth in the 2011 Farrout Slot Racing Championship. Michael Smalley remains unchallenged with an average score of greater than 18 points. Jim Wolfe's single score of 18 allows him to retain second.
4/2/2011 Eddie Shorer and Terry De Los Santos chisel some points off of Daniel Snipes' margin. Michael Smalley continues to lead. Tom Giese reenters the top-six.
3/19/2011 It's crowded at the top in the 2011 Farrout Slot Racing Championship. Michael Smalley strengthens his lead. Terry De Los Santos rises to fourth. Eddie Shorer slips to sixth.
3/5/2011 The team race shakes up the standings in the 2011 Farrout Slot Racing Championship as Jim Wolfe leaps in to bag second place and Nigel Rick enters the standings in a tie for fifth with Terry De Los Santos. Others are re-slotted and de-slotted accordingly.
In the early part of the season, having just a single team race score can give a driver a very high ranking. As the season rolls on, and more races are logged, the scoring adjustment will switch to a Best 27 of 42 system that will require those drivers to defend their positions with more high finishes.
2/19/2011 Eddie Shorer moves to third in the 2011 Farrout Slot Racing Championship. Christophe Deluy hikes from tenth to sixth. Gary Woods is relegated to eighth.
2/5/2011 Daniel Snipes jumps into second place in the 2011 Farrout Slot Racing Championship. Michael Smalley continues to lead. Terry De Los Santos and Eddie Shorer are shuffled down to third and fourth respectively. I fall out of the top six and Tom Giese gladly takes my place in fifth. Gary Woods is now sixth.
1/22/2011 After one round the 2011 Farrout Racing Championship standings show Michael Smalley leading over Terry De Los Santos, second; Eddie Shorer, third; Gary Woods, fourth; myself, fifth just ahead of Tom Giese in sixth.
