Finishing the year with six wins in seven races, Michael Smalley is the 2008 OTHG SCX 4WD Champion. Daniel Snipes finishes second. Chris Radisich retains third and Stephen Farr-Jones fourth. After being shut-out for team race wins in 2008, Terry De Los Santos falls to seventh, replaced by Nigel Rick in fifth. Thomas Lauffenberger lands in sixth. Thomas finally garners his first team race win of the year in the last SCX 4WD race of 2008. The SCX 4WD class will not return in 2009, as club members have voted to replace it with a Trans-Am class for next season. I know it will be missed by some, and may well return in the future.

With five first place finishes, Michael Smalley convincingly clinches the 2008 OTHG SCX 4WD with one race still remaining. Daniel Snipes would appear to be untouchable in second. All of the top six remain unchanged from the prior round as the leaders continue their pace. The final round will be decided in a team race at Stephen's Farrout Raceway on Dec 6.

After the most recent race in the OTHG 4WD Championship the only change in the top six is Chris Chan's slide to 9th, being replaced by Thomas Lauffenberger, who is now in 6th.

Chris Radisich returns to the OTHG SCX 4WD Championship to secure his three race minimum. He will be hard to remove from third place now, but is not threatening second place, Daniel Snipes. Michael Smalley leads the championship, again followed by Snipes. Radisich in third sits above club president Stephen Farr-Jones, Terry de los Santos and the legend, Chris Chan.

Chris Radisich's appearance at the most recent OTHG SCX 4WD race has helped to stratify the primary contestants, offering a better picture of where this one might go. Michael Smalley now clearly leads the championship over Daniel Snipes in second. Chris R. has placed himself solidly in third, above Bob Scott in fourth, Nigel Rick with an impressive fifth, and Terry DLS in sixth. Ultimately three races will be needed to qualify for the 4WD Championship. Chris now has two races complete. Chris doesn't compete with us often (enough), but this should allow him to haunt Daniel's thoughts for the remainder of the season if need be.

With no less than five ties amongst 17 drivers, the OTHG SCX 4WD Championship is a closely fought affair. Daniel Snipes has moved into a tie for the lead with Michael Smalley. Next, Gary Woods and Chris Radisich contest third. Bob Scott sits lonely in fifth above Terry De Los Santos and Nigel Rick tied for sixth.

Michael Smalley leads the SCX 4WD class after one race run. This was also the first race of the new Driver's Championship comprised of one race from each class.
