Gary's Woodside Raceway
With the juice turned up, these cars came alive, which is more than can be said for the racers as a whole. The podium was shuffled but otherwise unchanged, with Mike Smalley taking honors this time. Daniel took second, and Terry DLS finished a strong day by taking third. Gary managed another fourth, followed by Bob Beck, Thomas Lauffenberger, and the rest of the season's smallest field.

Bruce's Circuit Villeneuve
Wider cars and a narrow, intruding track meant that the chance to trade paint was great. The champagne broken out by our illustrious host added to the camaraderie (and probably improved the driving of some of us), though I swear I saw one or two of us weaving in our slots; how this is possible is beyond my explanation. Once things dried out (racers included), the usual suspects again took 1-2, with SFJ finishing the podium. Bob Beck and Jim Wolfe rounded out the top five.

Chris' Mr Model Car Raceway
Eighteen racers stayed for the day's second race. The coastal breezes of Chris' seaside location did not cool the racing action at all. Daniel tried in earnest, as always, but could not match Michael's heat on this day. Daniel took second by four laps over, lo and behold, me in third. Chris Chan, Terry and Gary filled out the top six. Bob Beck had top fives on both gutter lanes, but got eaten up in the straighter lanes for a final 10th. Cruisin' Bob Scott had it floored again and picked up a top five on Blue.
Michael Smalley ended up winning 7 of 8 heats for the day's two races, showing everyone the way around the fast and smooth Santa Monica Riverside track. But the pack of wolves I mentioned earlier this year is getting closer to both he and Daniel's heels. They can probably hear us yelping now.
